To analyze TikTok without paying, start with TikTok Studio’s analytics: they’re free, built into the app, and cover your account over ranges of up to 365 days. For other people’s accounts, free options are narrower: Social Blade shows an account’s public growth, Exolyt’s Basic plan tracks a single TikTok account, and TikTok’s Creative Center shows rising hashtags. This comparison reviews seven tools and spells out, for each one, what’s free and where the free plan stops, based on their official pages as of November 2026.

What a free TikTok analytics tool can do for you
Before comparing, separate two needs: free tools don’t handle them the same way.
Analyzing your own account. The most detailed data (retention rate, traffic sources, the searches that led to your videos) lives in your own account’s analytics. TikTok Studio shows it for free; Metricool and Buffer pull in part of it once you connect your account.
Analyzing other people’s accounts. For a competitor, you only get their public numbers: followers, views, likes, comments. Free tools record them for few accounts or over a short period, and those are exactly the two limits paid plans remove.
Comparing each video with the account’s norm. A raw number says little: 20,000 views is a hit for an account that usually gets 2,000, and a flop for one used to 200,000. The useful benchmark is the gap from the median of the account’s recent videos. That’s the calculation Creadar runs, free only during its preview.
Where the free plan stops
| Tool | What’s free | Where free stops |
|---|---|---|
| TikTok Studio | Your account’s analytics, from 7 to 365 days | Your account only |
| Metricool | 1 brand, 30 days of analytics, 20 scheduled posts a month | Unlimited history and reports from $20/month billed yearly |
| Buffer | 3 channels, analytics for the last 7 days, last 30 days or month to date | Unlimited history and exports from $5/month per channel billed yearly |
| Social Blade | Public stats, weekly charts for a year, 5 favorites per platform | No ads and more favorites from $59.99/year |
| Exolyt | 1 TikTok account, hashtag and sound, 7 days of chart history | 50 accounts and 90 days of history from €250/month (€210 billed yearly) |
| Creadar | A one-time preview of 3 accounts, no credit card | Daily tracking and outlier detection from €18/month |
| TikTok Creative Center | Trending hashtags and Top Ads | Broad trends, no account tracking |
How we chose
We picked tools that cover TikTok and whose free access you can verify on an official page: TikTok’s native analytics and Creative Center, plus four tools whose pricing page lists a plan priced at zero. Creadar is on the list with its one-time free preview, which isn’t a free plan. We left out tools that only offer a time-limited trial, and free plans whose official page doesn’t spell out the limits. Prices and limits are as of November 2026. Creadar is our product: we rated it with the same criteria as the other tools, and its limits are listed in its card.
For analyzing your own account
TikTok Studio
Official analytics for your own account
- TikTok
- Starting price Free
TikTok Studio brings together your account’s analytics, which you can open from your profile in the TikTok app, in the TikTok Studio app or on the web. They’re organized in five tabs: Overview, Content, Viewers, Followers and LIVE.
Best for Any creator who wants to understand their own videos (retention, traffic sources, audience) before adding another tool
Strengths
- Free and built into TikTok
- Date ranges of 7, 28, 60 or 365 days, or a custom range, and data downloads of up to 365 days at a time
- Per video: retention rate, average watch time, share of viewers who watched to the end, and traffic sources
- The searches that led people to your videos, and when your viewers were most active over the last 7 days
Limitations
- Built for your own account: TikTok’s help pages describe no ongoing competitor tracking and no alerts
- The “Your top posts” ranking stops at the 10 best-performing videos of the period
- On the web, a custom range can’t go back before July 17, 2022; for older data, you need the app
- Viewer age, gender and location are estimated by predictive models, TikTok says
Pricing Free, included with TikTok.
TikTok’s Creator Academy details what each tab contains. If you have a business account, TikTok says your analytics are also available in Web Business Suite: reach, engagement, conversions and followers over 7, 28 or 60 days or a custom range, your audience (age, gender, countries and cities) and a list of your videos. Your viewers’ active hours are especially useful to choose when to post.

Creadar isn’t free: a one-time preview analyzes 3 accounts with no credit card, then tracking requires a subscription.
Best for Creators, coaches and social media managers who want to see, on 3 competitor accounts, what a median-based analysis looks like before paying for daily tracking

- Instagram, TikTok and YouTube Shorts in the same watchlists
- Read-only connector for Claude and ChatGPT (Creator and Pro plans)
Limitations

- The preview covers a sample of each account’s posts, without its full history, and blurs the top post’s thumbnail until you pay
- No keyword search or account discovery: Creadar only analyzes the accounts added to a watchlist
- No scripts and no AI explanation of why a video worked
- YouTube support is limited to Shorts, and it’s a new product
Pricing One-time free preview of 3 accounts, no credit card; Starter at €18/month (1 watchlist, 10 tracked creators), Creator at €35/month (2 watchlists, 30 creators, Claude and ChatGPT connector), Pro at €95/month (unlimited watchlists, 100 creators). This is the page of a TikTok account tracked with a subscription, here a French-speaking dietitian. @emmafitnessgoal’s best video of the last 30 days reached 58x the median of her last 20 videos, and the next four landed between 3x and 4.9x: a single number tells you which one to study first. The free preview gives you a short version of this for 3 accounts, before any subscription.
